Christmas and trains and eggrolls

Merry Christmas! We’ve enjoyed the day very much, spent with our family. I have some early morning photos…
our tree
Here is our tree, decorated by Ted and Jay.

setting up the train
Ted, who stayed up until three am to clean his room, wash the car (in the dark) and set up our trains as a suprise. Gosh, it used to always be ME staying up all night to prepare morning suprises.

more trains and our gifts
This is another photo of Ted working on the trains, and you can see all our lovely gifts waiting under the tree. Our theme this year was a homemade Christmas. We made our Christmas cards and many of the gifts we gave.

After opening gifts (imagine train photo with LOTS of wrapping paper) we had biscuits and gravy for breakfast then went to church. Emily, Ted’s gf, came over and gave me the most wonderful homemade soaps, a incredible little vial with facial moisturizer in it. (I need to take pictures) and a handpainted candle. Greg and Sheri joined us at Trisha’s house where we ate all kinds of lovely things. Trisha liked the sewing organizer I made for her, and I got a crocheted dish cloth (I LOVE them) and a towel with a crocheted top. Very handy next to the sink. But the best part was just being a big huge family together! There were all kinds of afternoon activities.. Ted, Greg and Sheri went 4wheeling in their new truck while Emily went to her grandma’s house. Jay and I came home and took a nap!

Our new neighbors brought over homemade eggrolls…so we all munched a bit more. I won’t need to eat for at least a week.

I talked to Michaela and Joanna on the phone…which just isn’t as nice as having them here.

I hope your day was as full of joy as mine.

moving out

This has been an eventful day. I was supposed to be in Gainesville at 7:30…and woke up at 7:15 because the alarm didn’t wake us up. So, we were dressed and in the car at 7:20. Michaela had a few things left in her apartment to load into the car….

This gives you an idea of what our trip to Jax was like, just add three adults and two large suitcases. We were stuffed into the Taurus like clowns in a car at the circus.

When we got home I wrapped Joanna’s Christmas gifts and put them in a box. The plan was to take them to Jay so he could send them with FedEx. By the time I was ready to head out with the box I had missed the pickup at Jay’s office…so, Ted and I sprang into action.

Ted drives
Ted drove to the post office while I put the address on the package. It was 4:31 and the last mail pickup was at 5pm.dashboard clock

We hurried inside, used the self-service postage…added the postage and Ted put the package in the chute well before 5 pm.

HOW many more days till Christmas?

New Look!

Well, I have to admit it, I’m not enough of a geek to fix up bad code. So, after messing around with the old WP theme I decided to abandon hope and go with something entirely new. Since it has two of my favorite colors…green and periwinkle..it must be a sign!

And HEY… the search button works.

Homecoming Pics

Okay, okay, everybody calm down…the pictures are here.
Ted and Jill before the dance

BTW, for five bucks I’ll send you one of the ones I took of Ted before Jill arrived.

Oh, and Jill is very creative…she put the special touches on her dress, made the choker and her bag….isn’t that terrific? Musical AND artistic.

Here they are again
