The Best Class Ever

I taught a class today that I thoroughly enjoyed. The subject of the class was creating an original art quilt based on a photograph. The participants all created some very exciting things, and it was fascinating hearing the stories that the photos evoked. One of the class was basing her work on a formal portrait of her grandson. We had fun picking “little boy” fabrics for the background and the blanket in the photo. The best part was the drawing she did of her grandson, it was her first ever life drawing and it was simply outstanding. She totally captured him, just using a value based method of drawing.

I love teaching classes that leave me energized and excited..and this class has given me inspiration for some time to come!

Sounds like a fun class. I have always heard that teachers also get inspiration from their students. We want pictures!!!
